Week 11

 Our Christmas Announcement!

 Baby is a fig!

How Far Along?  11 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? No, but using my "bigger" jeans. I got out my post-Sammy jeans and they are still nice and loose, though!
Sleep? Pretty good! Sammy has been sleeping pretty well in Ohio - all night long!
Best Moment of the Week? Finally telling people! We told the Walkers about our latest "recipe" (i.e. our bun that's cooking in my oven), and we surprised our families on Christmas day with our announcement! There were tears and laughter and lots of celebration. :-) Plus, Sammy knows now, and is very excited. He asks to read his big brother book (Christmas gift) every night.

Movement? Nope!
What I miss? Nothing!

Symptoms: This week my stomach has been hurting a lot, and was upset almost every day. I'm not sure if it's also food related, but definitely baby related.

What I’m looking forward to? The next appointment to hear the baby's heartbeat!
Milestones: Tooth buds are forming, bones are hardening, and baby is starting to hiccup. :-)

Emotions: Lots of joy.

**Whoops - no bump pic this week! **

Week 10!

 10 weeks!

Baby is the size of a kumquat!

How Far Along?  10 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Nope! Regular pants still fit although the waistband is getting tight.

Sleep? Pretty good! Sammy is sleeping through the night most nights, which helps a lot, especially since I am so sleepy!

Best Moment of the Week? Our first prenatal appointment!

Movement? Nope

What I miss? Nothing in particular. Although we went to a Christmas party and they had a really delicious smelling mulled wine that everyone was talking about!

Symptoms: Sleepiness, thirst, some tummy aches.

What I’m looking forward to?

Milestones: Baby is starting to grow tiny fingernails! And hair! No longer an embryo, now a fetus.

Emotions: Happy, but a little disappointed that we couldn't hear the heartbeat at our appointment. We will have to go with plan b for our Christmas surprise instead of a recorded card with the heartbeat sound... I'm so excited for Christmas next week, to finally let the cat out of the bag!

Week 9

9 weeks!

Sammy wanted to get in on the action! (He looks HUGE here!)

Baby is the size of a grape

How Far Along?  9 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? No, still in regular pants. Getting a little snug, and no longer wearing my "skinny jeans."
Sleep? Pretty good - Sammy has been sleeping better, and I have been getting up just once to pee!
Best Moment of the Week? Looking up alternative ways to surprise our families if we can't hear the heartbeat at the 10 week appointment.

Movement? Nope! Although the baby is moving now that its major joints are bending!
What I miss? Nothing... There are a lot of treats around for the holidays and I keep having to remind myself NOT to eat too many because of the baby. It's good for me, too, though!

Symptoms: Feeling tired, and not wanting certain foods. No nausea this week though. Sammy lets me play "sleep" with him in the afternoons haha. He puts me to sleep and then plays quietly for a minute or so, then wakes me up! One day I sat up to play legos with him and he told me to lay down, as I had done the day before. I didn't need to be told twice! Haha.

What I’m looking forward to? Finally, next week is our first prenatal appointment! We will make it a date night since Sammy will probably spill the beans once he knows there is a baby in Mama's tummy.
Milestones: Baby no longer has a tail, and his/her little heart has 4 chambers!

Emotions: Happy. Praying a lot that Baby is developing well. I probably worry too much about if Baby is developing well and if I am eating/resting/exercising enough for him/her.

Week 8

8 weeks!

Baby is the size of a kidney bean!

How Far Along?  8 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? No, but my regular pants are starting to feel a tiny bit tight. I can still zip and button everything though!
Sleep? Still ok... Sammy is waking up when I get up to pee, but hopefully he will learn to sleep through it so I can get better sleep!
Best Moment of the Week? Making fun Christmas memories with Papi and Sammy, and thinking about how different our family will be next year!

Movement? Nope!
What I miss? Nothing!

Symptoms: Still feeling tired. I sometimes half (or whole) fall asleep in the afternoons while playing with Sammy. Sammy has thankfully been rolling with the punches and letting me lay down while we play.

What I’m looking forward to? Our appointment, and Christmas so we can tell our family!!
Milestones: Baby is getting fingers and toes (webbed), and Baby's brain is starting to develop.

Emotions: Happy!

Week 7

7 weeks!

Baby G is the size of a blueberry

How Far Along?  7 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Nope! Still not showing. Pants are ever so slightly tighter in the belly.

Sleep? Pretty good, although I consistently get up 1-2 times to pee. If I can go back to my own bed (and Sammy doesn't wake up), I sleep well. But Sammy was sick last week so he sometimes woke up at night!

Best Moment of the Week? Thanksgiving! We had a relaxing day and considered telling our family but decided not to - it was too hectic. But reflecting on our newest thing to feel thankful for is wonderful!

Movement? Nope!
What I miss? I wanted a little champagne to toast with on Thanksgiving, but made due with sparkling cranberry juice.

Symptoms: Feeling tired and yucky... My tummy hurts on an off throughout the day, but no vomiting still. Some food aversions though. Just thinking about some foods makes my throat constrict.

What I’m looking forward to? Our first appointment, and our Christmas surprise! I'm planning it out... Hopefully I still won't be showing so no one will guess!! And hopefully little baby G will cooperate and let us hear his/her heartbeat at our appointment! I am counting the days!

Milestones: Baby G has arm and leg buds, and is growing eyelids!

Emotions: Thankful and excited.

Gonzalito #2!

We are thrilled to be expecting a second Gonzalito!

Estimated due date: July 11, 2016

We are so excited and happy. We took the pregnancy test as a family, and I asked Sammy to tell Papi if there was one line or two. Sammy told Papi - two lines (dos lineas)! Mami cried and Papi was happy but couldn't quite believe it!

6 weeks!

Baby is the size of a lentil

How Far Along?  6 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? No, all clothes still fit well.
Sleep? Not the greatest, but mainly because Sammy has been waking up to nurse at night (he previously had been sleeping through the night) and has been getting up earlier.
Best Moment of the Week? Taking the pregnancy test (technically during week 5) and reading about Gonzalito's development. We had forgotten how lovely it is to follow the intricate details of how God created us!

Movement? Nothing, but I feel like there is a small hard ball in my belly.
What I miss? Coffee! I sometimes drink a tiny quarter cup of coffee to help wean me off of it. I know I can technically drink coffee, but I prefer to be on the safe side.

Symptoms: Feeling sleepy (doubly bad from giving up coffee) and nausea/stomach aches. So far no vomiting, but I have wanted to. Hopefully it passes soon. :)

What I’m looking forward to? Telling people, especially family. And our first prenatal appointment in a month. It feels like such a long time away!
Milestones: Baby's heart has now started beating.

Emotions: Happy! Sometimes a tiny overwhelmed if I think about how our life will change, but overwhelmed with good thoughts.
