23 weeks!

23 weeks, sporting one of the new tops from Goodwill!

With Sammy, who just woke up from a nap :-)

Still able to job, but my muscles tense a lot so I have to do a combo of walking/jogging/stretching.

Baby is the size of a large mango (which seems to me to be smaller than a spaghetti squash....)

How Far Along?  23 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Yes, but I am still wearing my "big" pants. They are getting tight though, so this might be the last week!
Sleep? Pretty decent. I have been hungry when I wake up in the middle of the night, which makes it harder to go back to sleep.
Best Moment of the Week? Well just at the end of 22 weeks Sammy and I went for a long bike ride (8 miles!), and also to a midwife appointment. It is fun to ride with Sammy, knowing that our days of riding together on a bike, just the two of us, are coming to a close.

Movement? Yes! Lots of little kicks, and when I walk really fast or move a lot, I feel Braxton-Hicks contractions and it feels like baby is rolling a little.
What I miss? Nothing!

Symptoms: Still heartburn, and feeling tired. I have been wanting to fall asleep in the afternoons, and have been adding a tiny bit of regular coffee to my decaf in the morning. The coffee gives me heartburn, but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make!

What I’m looking forward to? Warmer weather so I can wear my maternity skirt every day. But really, I'm just enjoying each day! It's so nice outside, and I feel so blessed!
Milestones: Baby is noticing noise and music more. Which is awesome because Sammy sings and plays drums (or other instruments) all day long. :-)

Emotions: Happy!

Baby is the size of spaghetti squash!

How Far Along?  22 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Starting to wear more, but can still make it with my "big" regular pants. I went to Goodwill and got a pair of pants and a couple new maternity tops, though! The pants are SO comfy!
Sleep? Good! Sammy has been sleeping well, and since the time change for daylight savings, he was sleeping until 7:30 instead of 6:30. So, I did, too! :-)
Best Moment of the Week? Hmm... well, I got the news that the contracting project I was working on would be put on hold, so I don't have the extra work/stress anymore. And I went out for a night of solo shopping, and came back just in time for bedtime prayers. It was so nice!

Movement? Yep, little kicks every day!
What I miss? Nothing!

Symptoms: Still heartburn, and feeling a little sleepier than usual.

What I’m looking forward to? My belly growing, and warmer weather!
Milestones: Baby is forming tiny tooth buds!

Emotions: Happy!

21 weeks!

21 weeks!

Baby is the size of a carrot!

How Far Along?  21 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? I'm still using a combo of bigger clothes and smaller maternity clothes. The maternity tops are nice, but the pants don't quite stay up over my belly yet.
Sleep? Pretty good!
Best Moment of the Week? More kicks. Sammy has been hugging, kissing, and sharing toys with Baby every day.

Movement? Yes! It's wonderful!
What I miss? Nothing, really.

Symptoms: Still the heartburn! I'm getting a little more used to it... maybe we will have a very hairy baby!

What I’m looking forward to? Now that we're more than halfway through and we know the baby is a boy, I am looking forward to getting things a little more organized and ready for his arrival. I started reading a tiny bit about double strollers, and have begun purging the house through freecycle... little by little! There are things that we kept when we purged while pregnant with Sammy that we haven't used in over 2 years.... So those things are going! :-)
Milestones: Baby is growing eyebrows!

Emotions: Happy, but also nervous - this week I will have my root canal. I'm so happy to get it over with, but I'm nervous for myself (I hate dental work, and I hate that I have to get another root canal), and also for little baby! I know they say it's fine for the baby and won't harm him, but I can't help but worry. Praying a lot this week!

20 weeks!

Halfway there!

Sammy wanted to say "cheese!"

Baby is the size of a banana!

How Far Along?  20 weeks - I can't believe we are halfway!

Maternity Clothes? I am using some of the smaller/earlier maternity clothes along with my bigger regular clothes.
Sleep? Pretty good, apart from peeing! Sammy has had some good nights and some not as good nights, but my sleep has been pretty good.
Best Moment of the Week? Julian felt a couple of tiny kicks!

Movement? Yes, I love it!
What I miss? Nothing at the moment.

Symptoms: A little more sleepiness, and heartburn... I've had to take tums a few nights now.

What I’m looking forward to? More movement and stronger kicks!
Milestones: Baby can hear us now. :-)

Emotions: Happy!

19 weeks!

Week 19 Day 1

Sammy wanted to join!

Week 19, Day 7

Baby is the size of a heirloom tomato!

*I had forgotten I had already taken a picture this week, so there are a couple of nice maternity outfits that I am using for the first time. Thanks, Mimi and Freecycle!

How Far Along?  19 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Starting to use them more
Sleep? Pretty good! Julian had to get up early this week, and once he was up I had a hard time going back to sleep. But, the sleep I got was very deep.
Best Moment of the Week? Sharing our news with the world! It's so nice to receive love and support for our family from all around the (facebook) world.

Movement? Yes! Pretty much every night I feel him moving and kicking, and sometimes during the day too. But, I sit down for longer periods at night so I notice it more then.
What I miss? Nothing, really. Even though we didn't drink wine very often, I feel like that is the thing that I miss. Which is weird because if I had the opportunity I don't think I would drink it very often, anyway!

Symptoms: Still heartburn. I gave in once and had a tums, which helped, but didn't completely erase the heartburn. BUT, I feel like my hair looks a little shinier and fuller than before, so I will enjoy the positive symptoms, as well!

What I’m looking forward to? Still looking forward to Julian feeling Baby's kicks. They are getting stronger, so I think it will happen in the next couple of weeks! I think he already felt something, but it was hard to tell.
Milestones: Baby is developing senses, and can hear our voices now! So cool!

Emotions: Very happy. Sammy is already being a wonderful big brother, and talking about how he will share with the baby!

18 weeks!

Sammy playing kazoo for his baby brother!

Gonzalito's handsome profile!

Sammy sharing his toys with baby!

Baby is the size of a bell pepper!

How Far Along?  18 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Starting to wear the shirts, and some of the "early" maternity pants, that just have a little more give. But, I can still wear my loose, normal clothes.
Sleep? Pretty good! Very vivid and entertaining dreams!
Best Moment of the Week? Seeing baby in the ultrasound at the end of the week! He is a healthy, growing BOY!

Movement? Yes! Feeling more little kicks and movement, especially when I sit down with Julian in the evenings.
What I miss? Nothing!

Symptoms: Still heartburn. The midwife told me to get some tums, just in case. I may have to use them this time around!

What I’m looking forward to? Julian being able to feel Baby kicking. :-)
Milestones: Baby's ears are in the correct position, and now we can tell if baby is a boy or a girl. He didn't hide from us and we saw very clearly that he is a BOY!

Emotions: Happy! I thought it was going to be a girl (everyone in the family, except for Pop, did, too), and I was looking forward to seeing the differences in raising boys and girls. BUT I am SO happy to have another

17 weeks!

17 weeks!

Baby is the size of a turnip!

How Far Along?  17 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Still no - my "big" jeans are still working well, with a belt!
Sleep? Pretty good - very vivid and exciting dreams! But, Sammy has been waking up 1-2 times a night a lot this week, which is not the best....
Best Moment of the Week? Talking about birth experiences with Mama friends, and thinking about our new little one coming into the world!

Movement? Yes, although I don't really feel the rolling anymore. More tiny flutters.
What I miss? Nothing, although organizing a date night is tricky because I can't drink and Julian's back is recovering, so there are few activities that we can do!

Symptoms: Feeling a little tired, hungry, but my main symptom is definitely heartburn. Maybe this baby will have a lot of hair!

What I’m looking forward to? Next week we will have our ultrasound!!
Milestones: Baby's ears are growing! Soon Baby will be able to hear us well. So fun!

Emotions: Happy.
